Fly Free on JetBlue

Since my first flight on Jetblue, it has been my favorite domestic airline. Extra room, great flight attendants, TV and satellite radio in each seat, Dunkin Donuts coffee, and great snacks. Every year they add more and more destinations. Now I love to fly Jetblue…for free!

Every time I fly an airline, if they offer a loyalty program, I sign up when buying my tickets. So, with my first Jetblue flight, I became a TrueBlue member. Once a member, I received 3 separate rewards program invitations. First eRewards, then Points for Surveys, and most recently, JetOpinions. Hitting these programs allows me to get free flights on JetBlue.

Let’s start with eRewards. I was invited years ago and it is one of my favorite programs. You are emailed surveys when they are available and are rewarded in eRewards currency. This currency can be cashed out for gift cards for Starbucks, Macys, Express, catalogue subscriptions, and mostly airline and hotel points. $25 eRewards dollars gets you 500 TrueBlue points. If you plan your flights right, you can get special offers on flights where you can fly for 4,000 points. So you can easily earn free flights with eRewards alone. However, to speed up the process, here comes Points for Surveys.

I was invited to join Points for Surveys. Since then, I have earned 27,000 TrueBlue points! And that is only doing surveys sporadically. If you have more time to dedicate, you will be even better off. Even if you don’t fully qualify for the survey, you still receive 10 points. Points for Surveys also emails you surveys, on a more regular basis than eRewards, but the Points are exclusively for JetBlue.

JetOpinions is also a new survey platform that works the same way, It links directly to JetBlue and you still get credit for surveys you do not qualify for.

What I like to do is use Points for Surveys for TrueBlue points, and use eRewards for hotel points (I like IHG as they have so many hotels all over) and then I can easily earn a free vacation!

You can also apply for the JetBlue Credit Card. It is a Mastercard. Right now, they are offering 10,000 Bonus Points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 90 days. Normal earnings are 3x points for Jetblue purchases, 2x at grocery stores and restaurants, and 1x on all other purchases. And there is no annual fee!

Last but not least, is the TrueBlue Dining Program. Although somewhat lower and slower than some of the other dining programs out there, remember every little bit counts! You will earn 1 TrueBlue point per $1 you spend at restaurants in the network. JetBlue Mosaic members will earn double that at 2 TrueBlue points per $1 spent. Just sign up, link your credit cards, and just make sure to pay the bill with your card. Points will automatically apply.

With a little work, you too can earn free flights on JetBlue without spending a dime!

Happy trekking!
